Estate accounts of Sir Nathaniel Bacon [manuscript], 1588-1598.

Accounts of payments for labor, chiefly agricultural, but including joinery and other "work about the house" at Stiffkey in Norfolk. The accounts were kept by John Fylby, Martin Burdon, Bartholomew Kempe, and Martin Man. Nathaniel Bacon's signature occurs frequently.

The records described below appear to relate to Nathaniel BACON (1547? - 1622) of Stiffkey, Norfolk, the second son of Sir Nicholas Bacon (1509 - 1579), Lord Keeper. He was admitted to Gray's Inn 1562 December 15; M.P. for Tavistock 1571 and 1572, for Norfolk 1584 and 1593, for Lynn 1597; Sheriff of Norfolk 1599; Knighted 1604 July 21.
